Great Day for a Day Trip!
I don’t know about you, but I found this winter to be so long and such a tough one to get through. But this past weekend, the weather was just beautiful and Paul and I were able to spend most of the weekend at our camp. We had such a great time. Between lazy walks, porch sitting, and fires in the evening, we felt totally recharged to start back to the work week.
Saturday we took a day trip and visited one of our favorite antique stores in the State College area. The store is called Apple Hill Antiques and they maintain a great and varied inventory. I have some photos for you but before I put them up I have to comment on how I interesting I found it to see how the photos tended to follow our interests. You will find many photos of paintings (Paul’s main hobby) and photos of quilts (my newest hobby). It’s funny how we tended to focus on what interests us the most even though there were many other wonderful bargains to be found there. Anyhow, here they are. Hope you enjoy!

And last but not least, my heart went pitter patter when it saw this little feather tree with vintage ornaments:
What did I buy after seeing all of this lovely bounty? I got off cheap this time. I found a large trunk with vintage quilt fabric in it. Most of it wasn’t to my taste, but I did find a bag with a large piece of green wool that I liked for a future quilt project with wool applique and the second bag had some pretty fabric that reminded me of some of the Civil War reproduction quilt fabric I’ve seen lately.
Love the green wool on the right. I’ll have to felt it before I can use it but I’ve done that before and it’s not too difficult.
My favorite fabric in this grouping is the top one shown below:
I hope you had a great weekend. Thanks for visiting. Please come back again soon.
