Hand Painted Roses on Table

Today’s post features a beautiful table that my husband and I just finished. The table has lovely features to it – great fluted legs, lovely carved sides and plenty of surface space. Unfortunately it was in bad shape. The veneer on the top was chipped and lifting and needed to be removed. (The before picture is after the veneer was removed and the glue residue was sanded off.) The bottom shelf which made the table more stable was split and needed to be repaired and the finish was in bad shape. Here’s the before:

Please don’t mind the mess behind the table. I took this photo in our painting studio and there are many works in progress all around the room.

Once the repairs were finished on the table, I painted it using Heritage Multimedia Acrylic paint mixing my own colors for the table. The bottom was glazed and varnished and then my husband did his beautiful artwork on the top. I hope I don’t overload you with the photos but they definitely do a better job of showing you what was done than anything I can say.

Here’s the top:

I’m so proud of the work my husband did on painting the beautiful florals on top. He is incredibly talented and creative. The table is for sale but I know I will have a difficult time parting with it. This beautiful artful table will make a lovely addition to any home.
